Obituary for Barbara Lynn Worley

Barbara Lynn Worley went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 23rd, 2021 surrounded by her family and dear friends. Barbara was and will forever be known for her “gift of gab” and her willingness to befriend you immediately and to follow up with an offer for a glass of iced tea or a seat at her table to have something to eat. She will also be known for the legacy she leaves behind in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who all know how much they were loved by Barbara. She was proud of each and all of them and had an impact on the people they are today.

Barbara was born November 20, 1945 to Maxine and Herbert Andrews. On May 21, 1966, Barbara married Edgar H Albrecht of Cottonwood, Texas. They lived in a number of places throughout their marriage but eventually found their way back to Cottonwood. Their marriage resulted in the birth of 8 children. Gayla Geer of Owasso, OK, Charlotte Haston of Jacksboro, TX, Christina Whiteley of Oakley, ID, Edgar Albrecht Jr of Georgetown, TX, Tresha Corso of Kenosha, WI, Carlile Albrecht of Cottonwood, TX, Emma Albrecht of Burleson, TX, and Andrew Albrecht of Granbury, TX. From these children, came the birth of 24 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren who were each a feather of pride for Barbara who would go on and on about them to anyone who would listen.

On December 20, 1996, Barbara married Donald Ray Worley of Cross Plains who loved her like no other and was devoted to her for just shy of 25 years. The two settled in Cottonwood where they built 2 homes together and planted what seemed like 400 rose bushes. In her last days, Donnie was both Barbara’s strength in fighting cancer and her peace and calm at the same time.
She will be missed by many and always remembered.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at the First Baptist Church, Cross Plains, TX with burial to follow at Cottonwood Cemetery.
