Obituary for Charles Edward "Red" Chamberlain

Charles Edward “Red” Chamberlain, 82, of Rising Star, Texas passed away on Monday, February 21, 2022 at home surrounded by his loved ones in Rising Star, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 26 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church in Rising Star, Texas with Robbey Stuteville officiating and John Ward assisting.

Red was born on December 07, 1939 in El Paso, Texas to the late Charles Arville Chamberlain and Mary Elizabeth Williams-Chamberlain. Red married Sarah F. Dodson on October 18, 1958 in Kirbyville, Texas. Red served in the United States Navy from June 1959 to July 1979. During Red’s time in the Navy he and Sarah lived in Virginia, South Carolina, Scotland, Guam, Florida and Spain. After serving for 20 years he retired from the United States Navy. Red and Sarah moved to Rising Star in 1981 where he served as a Bi-Vocational Pastor. Red will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Red was preceded by his parents; son, Richard “Ricky” Chamberlain; brother, John C. Chamberlain; daughter, Diana L. Matherne

Red is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Sarah F. Chamberlain of Rising Star, Texas; son, William A. “Tony” Chamberlain of South Carolina; 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; sister, Betty Ziegler of Arkansas.
