Obituary for John M Pearson

John Melvin Pearson 95, from Cross Plains, TX went to his heavenly home on December 25, 2020. He was born in Tokeen, TX on September 18, 1925 to Key and Lucille Pearson. John enlisted in the Army and served our country during WWII.

While in Austria he met and married Frieda Pearson in Vienna. After completing his time in the Army, the couple purchased a home in Midland, TX where they raised their 3 children. He loved the Lord and served as a deacon for many years on Wilshire Park Baptist Church, in Midland, TX where they raised their 3 children.

He loved the Lord and served as a deacon for many years at Wilshire Park Baptist, in Midland. The couple retired in Cross Plains, TX where he was a member of the First Baptist Church and was fondly know as Papa John. John was a role model to all who knew him, he lived his life his way and did so with honor and dignity.

He was preceded in death by his wife Frieda. John is survived by his oldest son, Melvin Pearson and wife Pam of Midland, TX, daughter Mary and husband Troy Willis of Cross Plains, TX, youngest son John Pearson and wife Patty of Denison, TX, Grandchildren John Willis, Cheri Boner, Troy Willis, Michael Pearson, Marc Pearson, Janae Burkett, Kristy Washburn, and Meghan Swindle, 16 great grandkids and 2 great great grandkids.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday January 2, at the Cross Plains Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to John’s favorite charity, The Wounded Warrior Project.
His family will miss him, but they rejoice in knowing that he was with his Lord and they will see him again.
