Obituary for Leo Weldon Bennett
Leo Weldon Bennett, 85, of May, Texas passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 in May, Texas.
Graveside service will be held Thursday, August 27, at 10:00 AM at Cottonwood Cemetery in Callahan County, Texas. The family will have a time of visitation on Wednesday, August 26 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Higginbotham Funeral Home in Cross Plains, Texas.
Weldon was born on September 19, 1934 Levi and Eula Bennett in Cottonwood, Texas. The fourth of seven children. He was married to Margaret Beth Gill on July 4, 1958 and they had four children. They were married for 47 years, when she passed away on December 1, 2005. On February 3, 2012, he married Linda Havins, blending tow families into on loving unit.
Weldon was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, his daughter, Gayna Ann, his parent, his brothers, Eugene, Dee and Jerry and his sisters, Laverne and Glenda.
Weldon is survived by his wife, Linda, his brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Frances Bennett of Santa Anna; sister-in-law, Sherri Raynor of Sterling City; brother-in-law and wife, Doyle and Donna Sims of Burleson; his son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Nancy Bennett of Lubbock; daughters, Shelly Peterson and Angie Segura of Fort Worth, daughter Debbie Barber of Brownwood; son Tim Barber of Giddings, son Mike Barber of Lubbock, 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
