Maxine was born August 15, 1934 in Cross Plains, Texas to the late Gus M. Simons and Lula Mae Smart-Simons. Maxine was a beautiful soul who taught her two boys how to truly love, the value of hard-work, and the true meaning of what is really important in this life while on earth- Jesus. She was a single mom, daughter, grandma, great grandma, sister, friend to all, musician and singer, bible teacher, caregiver, hardworking, fiercely independent, full of Grace and Love and forever Grateful. She not only called Kay and Dana, her daughters, but her grandchildren’s spouses as well. We were family! She taught us all how to love, by her words and deeds. In her final days as her body was finishing the race- she again reminded us: “God Is Love”. What an inheritance she has left us to pass down- A Legacy of Love.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, Gus M. Simons and Lula Mae Smart-Simons.

Maxine is survived by her sons, Tony Dimitri and his wife, Kay of Georgetown; Rusty Dimitri and his wife, Dana of Cross Plains; 6 grandchildren, Alaina, Michael, Sabrina, Dusty, Nicholas, Thomas and 10 great grandchildren.
