Orville M. Holland, 90, of Cross Plains, Texas passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 in Comanche, Texas.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, February 29, at 2:00 PM at Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel in Cross Plains, Texas. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Comanche County, Texas. Orville was born June 29, 1929 in Comyn, Texas to the Late L.G. Holland and Craig Beatrice Dry Holland. Orville married Wilda Weber in Tucson, AZ on July 25, 1952, who preceded him on December 13, 2018. He served in the United States Airforce. Orville worked for 3M for 25 years. Orville’s passion was farming the land that he and Wilda poured their heart and soul into. After retiring from 3M he spent his time raising cattle and farming coastal Bermuda alongside the love of his life, Wilda. His children and grandchildren meant the world to him. When Orville wasn’t tending to the farm he was either fishing with his grandkids, teaching them how to drive his truck, giving them rides on the tractor, talking to his son Joe about cattle, telling us all to watch out for the yellow kapoochers and caring for Wilda. Orville was a strong and selfless man who loved his family more than anything. He was so loved and will be dearly missed.

Orville was preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Wilda Weber Holland; son, William “Bill” Holland; parents, L.G. Holland and Craig Beatrice Dry Holland; brother, James W. Holland; 3 sisters, Lila Pipkin; LaRue Hudson; Frances Fields.

Orville is survived by his son, Joe Holland and wife, Susan of Cross Plains; daughter, Susan Glynn of Midland; 7 grandchildren, Shane Sharpe and his wife, Kristen of Austin; Tiffany Holland of Aledo; Joe Holland II of Austin; Tanessa Glynn of Clyde; Terra Hinjosa and husband, Mark of Midland; William Holland of Fort Lee, VA; Adreane Williams and husband, Benny of Glen Rose; 9 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, L.G.
