Recie Juanita Clark Tatom
Our precious wife, mother and nana, Recie Juanita Clark Tatom peacefully passed from this earthly world to join Jesus and the heavenly hosts of angels on July 18, 2021, with family by her side at the Homestead Nursing Center, Baird, Texas.
A time of celebration of her life will be at the First Baptist Church of Cross Plains on Saturday, July 24 at 2:00 PM, with visitation Friday night, July 23 at Higginbotham Funeral Home from 6:00 to 7:30 PM. Interment will be at Atwell Cemetery following the service.
Recie was the Sixth child born to Harry Clark and Naomi Ethel Clark in Goldthwaite, Texas.
She married Freddy Marcus Tatom on November 25, 1953. He was in the U.S. Army and one of their very first homes was in New York City, where he was stationed. There, they had their first son, Larry Mark Tatom. When they moved back after Freddy’s discharge, they welcomed their second son, Raymond Lynn Tatom in Brownwood, Texas. They were married for 67 years.
She worked for the telephone company as a young woman and then at the Cross Plains City Hall. Her last and longest tenure was at Texas Heritage Bank where she worked over forty-three years before retiring.
Recie loved her Lord, her church and her family. One of her greatest joys were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the First Baptist Church for many, many years serving in multiple capacities.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters, Alex J Clark, Walter Dildey Cark, Ora Clark Breeding, Beatrice Clark Stephenson and Faye Clark Huyge.
Survivors include her husband, along with sons: Larry Tatom and wife, Sandy of Groesbeck, Lynn Tatom and wife, Kim of Cross Plains; Five Grandchildren: Michael Tatom and wife, Jodi of Burnet; Jacob Tatom of Ft. Collins, CO; Angela Adams and husband, Chris of Abilene, Rusty Retz and wife Dominique (Nikki) of Groesbeck and Keith Retz of Groesbeck; Seven Great Grandchildren: Ryder, Blaine, Shyla, Kaylan, Wyatt, Colt and Lauriel.
The family would like to thank Hill Country Home Care of Early and those caregivers who loved on her while she was still at their home, Kindred Home Health, Kindred Hospice Care and Homestead Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. We could not have asked for a more loving, kind and caring group of employees to care for them than those at the Homestead Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Thank you to, Marianne Salinas for guiding us through this journey. We would also like to thank all of our family and friends for your many calls, texts and prayers that we have received.
