Wife Jean Wilson-3 Children Deana Strickland & her husband Randy, Nikki Wilson, Ticia Elkins & her husband Kevin-6 Grandchildren Shana Sanders & her husband Ricky, Misty Gilley & her husband Jason, Amber Wilson & fiancé Cory, Kevin Wilson & wife Heather, Shi Anne Lee & Husband Shawn, Brody Elkins & fiancé Emma- 8 Great Grandchildren Shambry, Blaynee, Joshua, Brecken, Briar, Robert, Witt & Nyko- 2 Great Great Grandchildren Jace & Wylder


Dwayne was born in Cross Plains to Bailey & Vera Wilson in 1934. Went to school at CPISD and played many sports to which the one most enjoyed was Football, he was named “Golden Toe Wilson” by the Fort Worth Star Telegram being known for all the extra points he kicked. Dwayne graduated CPISD in 1953.

Dwayne married the love of his life Jean (Dillard) Wilson in October of 1954 and they were highly blessed to spend 66 and a half years together. Dwayne served on Cross Plains School board and City Council for several years. He spent many years working in the oilfield while he did some peanut farming and ranching all at the same time. He started out working Dillard Drilling for 17 years, ran his own air rig called Witts Drilling for 8 years. Started Peanut farming in there and did that for 30 years while ranching and continued ranching. As a young boy he was raised in the Wilsons Café and along with his wife continued the legacy by opening and building most of what is known as Jeans Feedbarn in 1995 and this place continues to serve its community. In 1958 Dwayne started helping his dad carry the mail route & just recently retired in 2018 after 40 plus years of service.

Dwayne’s favorite pastime was traveling to Colorado for Elk hunting over 20 plus years.

He has spent the last 3 years enjoying life watching old John Wayne movies, looking after his own cattle and fishing with family. He was blessed and loved by 5 generations.
