Gorman Welch, 81, of Rising Star, Texas passed away on Monday, February 5, 2018 in Rising Star, Texas.

Graveside Services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 6 at Amity Cemetery in Comanche County, Texas.

Gorman was born on July 21, 1936 in Menard County, TX to the late Ray Welch and Leona Nelson Welch. He was many things above all else he was a cowboy. Gorman was also a Cowboy Poet, Game Warden, Government Trapper, Justice of the Peace and Chief of Police. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Gorman was a character and will be missed by his family and friends

Gorman is survived by sons, Ray Welch; Bubs; daughter, Vanessa Finney and husband John, daughter, Robin Downey and husband John; grandchildren, JT, Vicki, Kellie, Cody, Taylor, Amanda and Becky; Jeremy; great grandchildren, Navy, Hank, Sammy, Johnathan, Caidn, Silus, Amelia, Athena, Alli & Jeane; brother Zane Welch; numerous family and friends.
