Obituary for Vivian Elizabeth Bush (Robinson)
Vivian Elizabeth Robinson McCowen Bush, 82, of Abilene, Texas passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2019 in Abilene, Texas.
Graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 9, at 2:00 PM at the Cottonwood Cemetery in Cottonwood, Texas with Greg Clemmer officiating. The family will have a time of visitation Wednesday, January 9 from 10:00-11:00 am at Higginbotham Funeral Home in Cross Plains, Texas.
Vivian Elizabeth was born 23 August 1936 at Caddo Peak in Callahan Co., Texas. She was the first-born child of W.T. (Bill) and Mable (Barnes) Robinson.
She attended school in Cottonwood through the 8th grade then transferred to Cross Plains where she graduated in 1954. Soon after she began a life-long career in nursing. After 21 years, she retired from the Abilene State School Hospital in 1998.
She loved working in her yard at the very top of her bucket list was traveling. Over the years after retirement she visited all 50 states and Canada. She was a member of the Cottonwood Methodist Church from 1951.
Vivian was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Bush in 1999, a daughter Beth Bogue in 2009 and her parents.
Vivian is survived by a daughter, Tina and husband, Wayne Elkins of Eula; son, Ronald McCowen of Cross Plains; sister, Martha Malone of Tye; brother, Bob Robinson and wife, Cookie of Cottonwood; 6 grandchildren, Brandi Moeller, Nikki Elkins, Melanie Quinton, Sid Bogue IV, R.W. Bogue, Rory Bogue; 6 great grandchildren.
