Weldon Hill

Weldon Claborn Hill was born March 11, 1934 to Eugene and Opal Hill in Okra, Texas. He passed from this life to join His Savior on August 7, 2022.

Weldon began his education at Okra, Texas. He transferred to Rising Star ISD in the third grade and became a proud Rising Star Wildcat. He went on to Howard Payne on an athletic scholarship in football and track. He excelled in Pole Vault and received many awards for his achievements.

After graduating from Howard Payne, Weldon served in the army and was a member of the special services track team which represented the army all over the country. While stationed at San Antonio, he met the love of his life of 64 years, Arla Faye Brooks. They were married on August 15, 1958. Weldon went on to serve the Rising Star ISD for 32 years. He served as an elder at the Rising Star Church of Christ. Weldon was one of the first members at the Rising Star Foundation and held the role of president for many years. Weldon loved God, his family, church, friends, and his former teacher staff and students.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son-in-law, Mark Thomas and grandson Zack Thomas. He is survived by his wife, Arla Hill; brother, Jack Hill; children Pam and Ron Cohea, Laurie Thomas, Stephen and Suzie Hill, Kelly and Lori Hill; beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
