Ada Jones

Ada May (Alexander) Jones, age 90 of Pioneer TX died Wednesday March 12, 2025 at her home in Pioneer TX, with loved ones around. Ada May was born July 28, 1934, in Pioneer TX to James Doss Alexander and Annie Laurie (Hughes) Alexander.

Ada went to Pioneer elementary school. Graduated from Cross Plains High School in 1952. Went on to Abilene Christian College, graduated in 1956 with Elementary Education degree.

Move to Corpus Christi TX to teach. In Corpus Christi she meet Dolce P Jones, they married July 5, 1957 in Pioneer TX. Producing one son, Dolce P Jones jr.

Dolce Jones was in the Navy giving Ada May a chance to see the world and teach in different places, like Hawaii where her son was born, Maryland, Midway Island and back to Corpus Christi in 1969.

She retired in 1990 and moved back to Pioneer TX with Dolce Jones to farm. After moving back she substituted at Cross Plains Schools as a reading teacher.
She like going Cross Plains school sporting events. She loved watching her grandkids play in sports. She liked quilting at Pioneer Quilting Club. Most of all she love spending time with Dolce traveling around the country and seeing grandkids. Ada May is survived by her son Dolce P Jones jr (Skip) and Wife Susan Bell of Pioneer TX. Grandchildren: Dolce P Jones III, Joseph Del Frate, Christopher Del Frate, Brooklyn (Bell) Curry, Brandan Alexander Jones, Brennon Doss Pate Jones. Great Grandchildren: Aiden Parker Jones, Harper May Jones, Cayson Del Frate, Kymber Del Frate, Jade Del Frate, Joseph Anthony Del Frate jr, Elaina Rae Del Frate, Jayson Curry, Lincoln Curry. She is preceded in death by her husband Dolce P Jones Sr. She will be placed to rest at Pioneer Cemetery.
