Betty Aiken

Betty Aiken, 78, of Cross Plains, TX, passed away in Rising Star on Sunday, February 12, 2017.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 15 at The Church of Christ in Cross Plains with Bob Pipes officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Cross Plains Cemetery in Cross Plains, Texas. The family will have a time of visitation from 10:00 – Noon, Wednesday prior to the funeral service at the Church of Christ, Cross Plains, TX.

Betty was born on March 19, 1938 in Dallas, Texas to the late Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Simons. She married the love of her life John Aiken on August 27, 1957 who preceded her in death on November 29, 1997. Betty was a stay at home mother while all 6 kids were growing up. In 1989 she started caring for one granddaughter.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Patrice Duncan of Abilene, Texas; son, Jackie Aiken of Ranger, Texas; son, Billy Aiken of Cross Plains, Texas; daughter, Sue Strickland of Mineral Wells, Texas; daughter, Sadie Ring and husband, Mark of Cross Plains, Texas; daughter, Rachel Moore and husband, Curtis of Cross Plains, Texas; brothers, Homer Simons and Eugene Simons both of Lancaster, Texas; 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Betty is preceded in death by granddaughter, Anna Marie Clark and great granddaughter, Arabella Ann McCarley.
