Reverend Billy Leonard Reed, 84, passed away on Wednesday December 27, 2017 in Cross Plains, TX.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at the United Methodist Church in Cross Plains. The family will have a graveside service on Friday, January 5 at 2:00 PM at the Cuba Cemetery in Canton, Illinois.

Billy was born on May 3, 1933 in Canton, Illinois to the late Leslie Alvin and Wilma Hilton-Reed. He married Patricia Barlow in Canton, Illinois on December 28, 1950. After Patricia’s passing he married Sharon Watson on August 3, 1981 and gained 3 more children – Leland Watson, Terry Watson, and Shari Watson. Bill began preaching as a Nazarene preacher and then became an ordained minister of the United Methodist Church in 1963. Bill enjoyed raising Chihuahuas, flying his piper cub plane, and preaching. He also enjoyed traveling and visiting ghost towns. He loved watching John Wayne movies, reading books, and loved history.

Survivors include his children Billy Reed Jr and wife Gail, Cassandra Urbanski, James Reed, Timothy Reed and wife Leanne, David Reed and wife Vicki, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother Robert, two sisters Shelly & Luella, first wife Patricia, 2nd wife Sharon, son Matthew, and great grandson Dominick.
