Bobby Wayne Freeman, 95, of Cross Plains, Texas passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at his Family Farm in Cross Plains, Texas.
Bobby Wayne was born July 8, 1929, in Cross Plains, Texas to the late John Freeman and Ida Rudloff-Freeman. He worked on the family farm along with his dad and brothers, until he served in the U.S. Army from 1950-1952 achieving the rank of corporal.
He married Lora Mae Marchbanks on June 6, 1953, at Cross Plains First Baptist Church Parsonage. Soon after they married, they moved to Abilene, Texas. He was a member of Belmont Baptist Church, were he served as a Deacon for many years.
He was employed by Kennedy Grain Feed Store. He later accepted a job at J C Penney Company until his retirement at the age of 62. After his retirement he enjoyed spending quality time with his family, plowing at the farm, and baking homemade pies.
Bobby Wayne was proceeded in death by his parents; son, Darrell Glen Freeman; 4 brothers, Horace (HA), Jack, Harold, Riley; 1 sister, Helen.
Bobby Wayne is survived by son, James Freeman and wife, Tammy of Cross Plains; 4 grandchildren, Kyle Freeman and wife, Justine; Amanda Cole and husband, Michael; Jamie Reeves and husband, Cody; Tonda Sutton and husband, Ray; 10 great grandchildren, Alexander, Jaxson, Layla, Matthew, JT, Lynlee, Rian, Jameson, RayLyn, Trevor; 1 brother, Paul Freeman of Clyde; numerous nieces and nephews.
