Franklin Buckner

September 13, 1958 — April 18, 2023

Franklin Dee Buckner, 64, residing in Rising Star, TX passed away unexpectedly on April 18, 2023 after a battle with chronic health issues.

Dee was born on September 13, 1958 in Levelland, TX and then spent his early childhood in South Texas before returning to West Texas as a teenager. He was Class of 1980 at Texas A&M University where he was a loud and proud Aggie, member of C-1 and Parsons Mounted Cavalry in the Corps of Cadets, and Head Stack of the ’79 Bonfire. He then went on to have a life filled with adventures and shenanigans with friends and family doing sheep dog trials, chuckwagon cooking, making beautiful saddles, raising kids and fawns in the deer barn, and always dreaming big. He never met a stranger and never ran out of stories to tell.

He was married to Donna for almost 40 years. They went on to raise 3 children, Beth, Katie, and Clay, and later were unexpectedly blessed in 2009 with Jaelynn, Jaeden, and Gaebriel and again in 2011 with Zoie to complete their family. He is survived by his wife Donna, 7 children, and sister Tammy Albrecht.

He was preceded in death by his parents Buddy and Jackie Buckner.
