Obituary

Franklin “Frank” Samuel Hagy, 71, of Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on April 30, 2026.

Frank lived life on his own terms and left a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him. A true friend, beloved brother, and cherished uncle, he was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation. He served in the U.S. Army. With a generous heart and an easy smile, Frank had a way of making the world feel a little brighter.

A talented mechanic, he could fix just about anything with wheels—cars, trucks, and tractors alike. He was also a natural animal whisperer, especially with dogs, who brought him tremendous joy. Frank loved spinning tall tales, embracing his independence, and feeling the freedom of the open road.

He had a great appreciation for music. Dr. Hook was his favorite band, and the song that always reminded his closest friends of him was “Call Me the Breeze” by Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Born on September 26, 1954, in Missouri, Frank was the son of Archie I. Hagy and Phyllis J. Mattox Frazee.

He is survived by his sister, Annette Hagy-Rose (Ken Rose) of Texas; brothers James (Barbara) Tyree and David Tyree of California; step-brother Kenneth (Norma) Hopper of Nevada; several nieces and nephews; and his dear best friends Mike and Becki Whitehurst.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Carl Hagy, his sister Cheryl Tyree Vreeland, and his beloved dog Critter.

Those who loved him will remember his stories, his laughter, his steadfast friendship, and the quiet kindness of a man who could fix almost anything—including hearts. Rest easy, Frank. The road ahead is clear.

A private gathering will be held with family and close friends. In keeping with Frank's wishes, there will be no public service.
