Fred M. Dill went to be with the Lord April 26, 2024 in Haltom City, Texas, He came into this life February 9, 1933 at the home of his parents 3 miles north of Cross Plains, where he lived his early life until graduating from Cross Plains High School in 1951.
He married his God given soul mate Wilmojean Chapman on August 15, 1953. They were blessed with two children Lois in 1954 and Timothy in 1965.
Fred is survived by his son, Tim Dill of Halton City, Texas; 2 grandsons, Brandon and Cory Holcomb; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
Fred is preceded in death by his wife, Wilmojean in 2000; his father, Merrit in 1988; his mother, Suma in 1996; his brother, Marvin in 2006 and his daughter, Lois in 1989; plus, his second love and traveling partner for 10 years, Vivian Bush who together saw all 50 states.
He wore many hats in this life that included husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was an ordained minister and pastor in Texas and Oklahoma. He and Wilmojean ministered in churches and worked with the youth for many years. He also made a living in several fields and retired after 20 plus years from the printing business with Lehigh Press. He retired and returned to Cross Plains. At the time of his passing, he was an active member of the Cross Plains Methodist Church and active online member at the New Creation Christian Center of Fort Worth. He loved and served his Savior.
The visit will be Sunday, April 28th from 1:30 – 4:00 pm at Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel in Cross Plains. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 4th at 2 pm at New Creation Christian Center, 2601 Village Creek Rd., Fort Worth, Texas.
