Gay Nell Helms, age 75, of Cross Plains, Texas passed away on Monday, July 6, 2025, at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born February 6, 1950 to Rutherford Hayes and Vera (Tupie) Baugh Hendrix in West Monroe, LA.
She married Bobby Helms January 17th, 1971. Mom was the heart of our family. She was a wife of 49 years. A mother who raised 3 children to be strong and independent and a grandmother. She always sacrificed her needs for her family. She had a quiet strength and never complained and will be remembered for her wonderful smile and kind heart.
Preceded in death by her parents Hayes and Tupie Hendrix, her husband Bobby Helms, by brothers Curtis and Timmy Hendrix and sister Gettis Steele and grandson Justin Martin.
Survived by children Mike Martin and wife Mialinda of Abilene, Tx, Kevin Martin of Cross Plains and Pam Campbell and husband Randall of Cross Plains, Tx.
She was survived by 4 grandchildren Payton Porter, Jordan Henderson, Jennifer Martin, and Jace Martin. She was also survived by 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Survived by siblings: Margaret Montgomery, Jerry (Karen) Hendrix, Roland (Laurie) Hendrix, Dale (Wanda) Hedrix.
