Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Hazel Ladell Hamer, aged 84, who left us peacefully on August 10, 2026, in Rising Star, Texas. Born on February 20, 1942, in Gorman, Texas, Ladell was the beloved daughter of Gilbert Sylbester Moore and Hazel Priscilla (Carmack) Moore. In 1960, she tied the knot with Daniel Robert Hamer, her true love, in May, Texas, beginning a beautiful journey together.

Ladell dedicated over 25 years of her life to working as a greenhouse operator and owner, where she cultivated not just plants but also lasting friendships. Her love for nature was only matched by her passion for family, cooking, and creating beautiful jewelry. A true people person, she never met a stranger and had a special way of making everyone feel welcome.

Ladell was incredibly active in her church, taking joy in organizing music and lending a helping hand whenever she could. Her strong will and nurturing spirit meant that she always put others first, sharing kind words and a warm heart with everyone around her.

Hazel is survived by her son, Daniel Hamer & girlfriend, Kattie Edwards; grandson, Cody Hamer & wife, Samantha; brother, Harold Moore & wife Vickey; and numerous nieces & nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Robert Hamer; parents, Gilbert and Hazel Moore; son, Jesse Hamer; brothers, Edwin Moore & Terry Moore; and sister, Karen Wadley.

In lieu of flowers donation may be made to the North Lake Community Church in May, Texas.
