Hugh Gene Thomas, 72, of Cross Plains, Texas passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 in Abilene, Texas.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 14, at 11:00 AM at Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel in Cross Plains, Texas. Burial will follow at Cross Cut Cemetery in Brown County, Texas.
Gene was born December 14, 1947 in May, Texas to the Late James Bart Thomas and Lucille Legg-Thomas. He went to Cross Plains High School and Texas A&M. Gene married Barbara Lynn Hall in Harris County, Texas on August 2, 1994. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, James Bart Thomas and Lucille Legg-Thomas.
Gene is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Barbara Lynn Hall-Thomas of Cross Plains; brother-in-law, David Parsons of Cross Plains.
