James Vincent McCowen, 92, of Cross Plains, Texas passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 in Coleman, Texas.
Graveside services will be held Friday, September 17 at 10:00 AM at the Pioneer Cemetery Pavilion in Pioneer, Texas. The family will have visitation at Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, September 16 from 5:30 to 7:00 PM.
James was born December 10, 1928 in Pioneer, Texas to the late Charles Melton McCowen and Ruby Erma Curry-McCowen.
James was preceded by his wife, Ida Mae Hubbard-McCowen, son, Charle McCowen and parents, Charles Melton McCowen and Ruby Erma Curry-McCowen.
James is survived by his daughter, Sharlotte Montgomery of Cross Plains; sons, Jimmy McCowen of May; Mark McCowen of Midland; 9 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren; brothers, Burlie Paul McCowen of Hawley; Bob Jack Mc Cowen of Cross Plains; Ruben McCowen of Cross Plains; sister, Vonita Whorton of Cross Plains.
