James Ray Switzer, 70, of Cross Plains passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2018 in Abilene, TX.
Memorial Services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 18 at the Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel in Cross Plains, Texas with Terry Simmons officiating. The family will have a time of visitation on Wednesday at the Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 PM.
James was born on November 21, 1947 in Big Springs, Texas to the late OB and Pauline Coffey-Switzer. He served in the United States Air Force. James married Sylvia Owens and were blessed with many wonderful years until her passing on April 19, 2016. James enjoyed working as a mechanic and often helped others for little or no pay. After his retirement he enjoyed ranching and watching his cows. James will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his children, Clay Richardson and wife, Shiloh; Kevin Switzer and wife, Kelli; Cory Switzer and wife, Paige; 4 grandchildren, Sterling Switzer, Avery Switzer, Storey Switzer, Journee Switzer; 1 brother, Lonnie Switzer and wife, Martha.
