Jimmy Dwight McCowen, 74, of May, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2026, in Brownwood, Texas. Born on August 21, 1951, in Gorman, Texas, he was the son of James Vincent McCowen and Ida Hubbard-McCowen. Jimmy was a devoted husband, married for 55 wonderful years to Pam (Anderson) McCowen, who has been by his side through it all.
Jimmy graduated from Cross Plains High School and went on to make a life filled with passions-fishing, hunting, and getting his hands dirty under the hoods of vehicles. He was a true car enthusiast and spent countless hours tinkering as both a hobby and a way to support his family. Jimmy and Pam loved to hit the road, creating memories together on trips to beautiful places like Arizona and New Mexico. He instilled a strong work ethic in his family, always reminding them that if you were on time, you were late. More than anything, he cherished the time spent with loved ones.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Pam; their daughter, Stephanie; sons Jason and Jeremy; and his grandchildren Anna, Abi, Skyler, Peyton, Ryker, and Taylor. He was also a proud great-grandpa to little Finn. He is survived by his brother, Mark.Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, James Vincent and Ida Hubbard; his brother, Charles; and his sister, Sharlotte.
A celebration of life to be announced at a later date.
