Jimmy Ray “Jim” Ratliff, 79, of Rising Star, Texas passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2019 in Rising Star, Texas surrounded by his family.
Graveside service will be held Thursday, August 22, at 2:00 PM at the Rising Star Cemetery in Rising Star, Texas with Terry Simmons officiating. The family will have a time of visitation Wednesday, August 21 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Higginbotham Funeral Home in Cross Plains, Texas.
Jim was born December 11, 1939 in Las Cruces, New Mexico to the Late Lee Roy and Iva Inez White-Ratliff. Jim served in the United States Navy from 1958-1962. Jim married Carolyn Joyce Cook in Morton, Texas on June 5, 1964.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters; son, grandson.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Carolyn Joyce Ratliff of Rising Star; daughters, Pam Hutton of Cross Plains; Melanie Green and her husband, Rodney of Greenwood; four grandchildren, Brandy Gaudin; Scott Hutton; Samantha Pittman; Katie Barton; Eleven great grandchildren; brother, Larry Ratliff and his wife, Jeanne of Sun City Center, FL; sister, Mickie Martin and her husband, Tom of Lubbock; numerous nieces and nephews.
