She attended Pioneer school until its closing and then attended and graduated from Cross Plains in 1953. She then moved to Pampa in 1955 and went skating at the Pampa Roller Rink on snowy evenings with some girlfriends where her beauty caught the eye of the handsome Willard (Bill) Watson, owner of the rink. Bill and Jo Veda began dating and were engaged two weeks later. They were soon blessed with three children, Alton, Julie and Billy. After the children were older, Jo Veda went to work as a secretary for Highland Baptist Church while still helping Bill with operations and lessons at the skating rink. Jo Veda also played piano for Pleasant Grove Baptist Church at Brownwood Lake. They lived happily at their Lakehouse near Byrds Store until Bill’s passing in 2006. Two years later, Jo Veda, became reacquainted with a high school beau, Neil Bush. Neil and Jo Veda were married in 2009 and resided in Lubbock, Texas until Neil’s passing in 2016.
