Johnnie Bland

Johnnie Kathryn Bland, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Ollie B. Fortune and Lerlene Montgomery-Fortune on September 29, 1937, in Callahan County, Texas. Johnnie went to school in Cross Plains from first grade through tenth grade. Johnnie married Allen Wayne Bland Sr. on June 1, 1954, in Callahan County, Texas. Johnnie worked at Permian General Hospital; Cross Plains Housing Authority; Cross Plains Dairy Queen and she served with the Cross Plains EMS for 8 years. Johnnie had many interests; she enjoyed gardening, painting and most of all reading her Bible. Johnnie was member of the Cross Plains Church of Christ.

Johnnie is survived by her sons, Allen Wayne Bland Jr. and wife, Karen of Burkett, Texas; Robert Anthony Bland and wife, Sheila of Andrews, Texas; Mark Duane Bland and wife, Kathy of Mineola, Texas; Randall Scott Bland of Cross Plains, Texas; 11 grandchildren, Jason Bland; Wayne Bland; Jerry Bland; Carrie Marquez; Hollee McAdams; Lindsey Fears; Lauren Williams; Becky Stroman; Nathan Bland; Kristin McKowen; Caitlyn Bland; 22 great grandchildren, Ethan; Brooke; Hunter; Jaxson; Emma; Daniel; Linden; Corbin; Ethan; Alena; Malachi; Noah; Bella; Anastatia; Rebecca, Madelynne; Gabriella; Brayden; Peyton; Addison; Shyner; and Karsen; sister, Judy Fortune Porter of Cross Plains, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 69 years, Allen Wayne Bland Sr; parents; brother, Lewis Fortune.
