Joy Curtis

Joy Dean Curtis, 86, of Carbon, Texas passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018 in Rising Star, Texas.

Graveside Services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 22 at Sipe Springs Cemetery in Comanche County, Texas. The family will have visitation from 10:00 – 11:30 am Thursday, March 22 at Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel in Cross Plains, Texas.

Joy was born on August 6, 1931 in Eastland County, Texas to the late James R. and Alpha Hogan. She was a member of the Eastern Star, she attended church at the First Baptist Church in Rising Star. She loved art, enjoyed quilting and crocheting. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.

Joy is survived by her children, Debra Winfrey of Rising Star, Texas; Carol Cook and husband, James of Rising Star, Texas; Janet Lenard and husband, Troy of Rising Star, Texas; 6 grandchildren, Jennifer Edgar; Penny Cowan; Jason Cook; Justin Cook; Terrie Walker; Angela Bradley; 19 great grandchildren; sister, Reda Cannistraci of Cisco, Texas.

Joy was preceded in death by her husband, Perry Curtis; son, Jimmy Curtis; sisters, Opal Atwood and Josie Owens.
