Lillian Alford

Lillian (Lillie) Alford, 95, of Rising Star, Texas, passed away in Brownwood on Sunday, May 21, 2017.

Funeral services will be held Friday the 26th at 10:00 am at Higginbotham Chapel, Cross Plains, TX, with Jo Lynn Davis officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Amity Cemetery in Brown County, Texas. The family will have a visitation from 6:00 to 7:30 pm, Thursday the 25th at Higginbotham Chapel, Cross Plains, TX.

Lillie was born on March 4, 1922 in Crocker Community, Texas to the late Mr. and Mrs. William H. Neie. She married the love of her life J. T. Alford on November 8, 1939 who preceded her in death on October 8, 2000. Lillie was an LVN, serving the Rising Star and Cross Plains communities for many years.

Lillie is survived by her daughter, Judy E. Green of Rising Star, Texas; son, Ronald J Alford of Rising Star, Texas; son, Larry F. Alford of Rising Star, Texas; brother, Van Neie (Pat) of Pittsburg, OK; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.

Lillie is preceded in death by sister, Velma Kidwell; brother, Eddie Neie; daughter, Mary L. Chesler; and grandson, Michael Alford.
