Linda Strength, age 74 of Cross Plains, Texas was called home to her Lord and Savior on Friday, August 4, 2023, in Brownwood, Texas.
Linda was devoted to her family. She loved spending time with them, especially her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She served the Cross Plains area as a cosmetologist and a volunteer EMT. She worked with her husband for many years at their mechanic shop doing bookwork and chasing parts. She spent the last 10 years before retirement as a prison guard at the French Robertson Unit.
Linda was born on November 24, 1948, in Rising Star, Texas to the late R.W, Purvis and Nell Riffe-Purvis. Linda married Charles Strength on June 15, 1967 in Cross Plains, Texas.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, R.W. and Nell Purvis; sister, Dianna Stover.
Linda is survived by her husband, Charles Strength of Brownwood, Texas; daughters, Dawn Hilburn and husband, Ron Hilburn of Brownwood, Texas; Amy Barnett of Oro Vally, Arizona; son, Chris Strength and wife, Angel of Oxnard, California; 6 grandchildren, Brooklyn Martinez and husband, Miguel; Bradley Strength and wife, Ranko Sasanami; Austin Hilburn and wife, Elizabeth; Colton Hilburn; Kobe Barnett; Kayley Barnett; 4 great grandchildren, Addison Ortiz; Arilyn Ortiz; Bryson Hilburn; Layla Hilburn.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cross Plains Senior Citizen Center at P.O. Box 144, Cross Plains, TX, 76443.
