Minnie Lois Woody, age 95, passed away Monday November 6th in Abilene Texas.

Minnie was born July 27, 1928 in Cottonwood Texas to William Franklin Woody and Emma Mae (Bennett) Woody.

Minnie's first job was a telephone switchboard operator for the local area based in Rising Star, Texas. Then she moved to Abilene and worked for Thornton's Department store as a switchboard operator. Then she began her career with the Federal Government Civil Service starting at Dyess Air Force base main switchboard. Next, she worked at Dyess Air Force base hospital as a scheduler/switchboard operator. She worked in several divisions at Dyess Air Force base including Supply and Motor Pool.

Minnie was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Emma Woody, her brother, Lewis Woody and sister, Nelda Wilcoxen.

Minnie is survived by her sister, Dorothy Woody, her daughter Kathy Gonzales and husband Johnny. Her grandchildren, Jon-Marshall Cody Gonzales and wife Kaylee and Courtney Danielle Gonzales and wife Rebecca. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Nicholas Gonzales and wife Alexis, Easton Gonzales, Jace Gonzales, Marlee Gonzales, Liam Grayson Gonzales and Hudson Hayes Gonzales and her great-great grandson, Lucas Gonzales. She was also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Viewing and visitation will be Friday, November 10th from 11:00am to 1:00pm. Graveside services will be at a later date in the Cross Plains Cemetery.
