Neoma Ruth "Mutt" Cain, 92, of Rising Star passed away Friday, September 15, 2017 in Rising Star.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 2 PM at the First Baptist Church of Rising Star. Following services Neoma had requested to be cremated.
Neoma was born on December 2, 1924 in Rising Star to the late Virgil D. Benson and Addie Laura Johnson. She married Homer Cain in July 24, 1942 and was married for 53 years until his passing. She was a homemaker and member of the First Baptist Church of Rising Star. Neoma was a private person and worked quietly in the community and church.
Neoma is survived by her son, Gary M. Cain and wife Lynn of North Carolina; grandsons, Scott & Gus of North Carolina; brother, Charlie Benson of Rising Star; sister, Lorene Clark of Buchanan Dam; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Neoma was also preceded in death by son, Homer Cain Jr.; six brothers; 3 sisters, daughter-in-law Linda Cain and a grandson, Mikey Cain.
Neoma is survived by her son, Gary M. Cain and wife Lynn of North Carolina; brother, Charlie Benson of Rising Star; sister, Lorene Clark of Buchanan Dam; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Neoma was also preceded in death by son, Homer Cain Jr.; six brothers; 3 sisters and a grandson, Mikey Cain.
