Ora Frances “Sally” Casey Whiteley, 89, of Cross Plains, Texas passed away on Monday, October 25, 2021 in Cross Plains surrounded by family.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 28 at 2:00 PM at Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel with Ronnie White officiating. Burial will follow the service at Cottonwood Cemetery in Cottonwood, Texas. The family will have a time of visitation Wednesday, October 27 at Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel from 5:00 – 6:00 pm.

Sally was born May 20, 1932 in Cross Plains, Texas to the late Urah Francis Casey and Jessie Mae Woody-Casey. Sally was a former custodian for 9 years at the Cross Plains ISD. She worked for Golden Oaks Nursing Home for 5 years. Worked at McNight State TB Hospital for 11 years. Sallie will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Sally was preceded by her husband J.D. Whiteley; daughter, Jessie Patricia Whiteley; grandson, Cristopher Lane Harveson; parents, Urah Francis Casey and Jessie Mae Woody-Casey; brothers, James Urah Casey, Elmer Ray Casey, sister-in-law’s, Eva Casey, Bonnie Casey, Janice Casey.

Sally is survived by her son, Billy Dee Whiteley of Cross Plains; 4 daughters, Jannette Whiteley of Paden, Oklahoma; Dee Ann Carney and husband, Philip of Mineral Wells; Lee Ann Whiteley of Cleburne; Denese LaRee Watts and husband, David of Mineral Wells; 10 grandchildren, Steve Douglas Proctor, Rina Lanett Comarati, Cody Houston Reeder, William Tray Harveson, Michele Donald Whiteley, Dillon Dee Whiteley, Juston Deon Whiteley, J. J. Higgins, William David Watts and Hannah Jay Watts; 2 great grandchildren, A.J. Comarati and Joseph Scott; brothers, Jessie Byron Casey of Cross Plains; Thomas Wesley Casey of Cisco; sister-in-law, Mary Casey of Oklahoma; numerous nieces and nephews; close friends, Terry French and his wife, Tracy of Cross Plains.
