Paulette Jane Hubnik Foster, 80, of Cross Plains, Texas, peacefully passed away with her husband and dear friend Pauline by her side, on September 12, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born February 11, 1945, in Crosbyton, Texas, she was the beloved daughter of Paul Hubnik Jr. and Mallie Jane Hubnik (née Marak).

Paulette married James Foster, in September 5, 1981 in Odessa, Texas. Together, they embarked on an adventure that took them to Anchorage, Alaska, in 1984, before settling in the Atwell community of Cross Plains in 1997, where they built their home and enjoyed a well-deserved retirement.

Throughout her career, Paulette served with dedication mainly in the legal field, working for the Ector County District Attorney's office in Odessa, TX early in her career and later for the District Attorney's office in Anchorage, Alaska where she played a pivotal role in the victims witness program, before her retirement.

Paulette's passions brought beauty and joy to all who knew her. She had a gift for flower gardening, transforming her home and outdoor living areas into breathtaking displays of color and life. Her love for decorating created warm, welcoming spaces where family and friends so precious to her gathered to make cherished memories. She delighted in her family, polka music and found her greatest joy and strength in her unwavering faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

A devoted member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Cisco, Texas, Paulette served faithfully on the Altar Society, sharing her time and talents with her church family and community.

Paulette is survived by her devoted husband of 44 years, James Foster; her son Tim Foster and his wife Lisa of Odessa; her daughter Jamie Foster of Dallas; grandson Jeremy Foster and wife Keelian of Odessa; granddaughter Bryanna Foster of Odessa; and great-granddaughter Kinsley Foster of Odessa. She is also survived by her dearest sisters Eleanor Mitcham of Odessa and Joanie Ward and her husband James of Fort Stockton, brother-in-law, Steve Foster and wife Anita, sister-in-law, Judy Foster all of Cross Plains, many aunts, uncles and cousins along with a host of treasured nieces, nephews, and precious friends. She is also survived by her beloved cat Lucy.

A very special thank you to Jeff and Sue Ramey of Cross Plains for their loyal love & support and to her compassionate caregivers at Woodlands Nursing Community & Solaris Hospice in Eastland TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Hubnik Jr. and Mallie Hubnik, her brothers Ernest Hubnik and Michael Hubnik and her brother-in-law Randy Foster.
