Roger Williams

June 7, 1936 — February 18, 2017

Wilbur Roger Williams, 85, of Cross Plains passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017 in Abilene, TX.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at 2 PM at the Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel. Burial with military honors will follow at Cross Plains Memorial Park, Cross Plains, TX.

Roger was born on June 7, 1931 in Cross Plains to the late Wilbur B. Williams and Carrie Tyson Williams. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the U.S. Army. Afterwards the war Roger attended and graduated from the University of Texas. He worked in Utah, California and South Texas as a chemical engineer before retiring to Cross Plains to care for his mother and sister until their passing. Roger was extremely intelligent and enjoyed working and developing mathematical equations. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and attended the Cottonwood Baptist Church.

Roger was a lifelong bachelor and is survived by many nephews and nieces and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers family request donations be made to the West Texas Rehab Hospice of the Big Country.
