Ruth Ellen Applin

Ruth Ellen Applin was born on March 27, 1939, and went to her heavenly home on February 11, 2026, at the Rising Star Nursing Center. Ruth was a graduate of Cross Plains High School and Howard Payne University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry.

Ruth had a deep and abiding faith in God and a profound love for His creation. She found great joy and peace at her farm in Cross Plains, walking in the woods, and spending time with her beloved dogs. She viewed creation as a gift from God and was grateful for the beauty He placed around her.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Mary Applin; her sisters, Mary Miner and her husband, Reed, and Edna O’Banion and her husband, Frank; and her brothers, George and Gilbert Applin.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews who rejoice in her homegoing because of the promise of eternal life through Christ.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the employees of the Rising Star Nursing Center and the hospice care team for their compassionate care and loving support during Ruth’s final days.

The family will have a celebration of life at a later date.
