Sandra Moore

Sandra K Moore, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on November 6, 2024. She was born in Gorman, Texas on October 11, 1941, to Ruth and Beryl Lusk and was raided in Sabano, Texas.

Sandra dedicated much of her career to the United States Postal Service, where she retired as the Postmaster in Olden, Texas. Known for her warmth and work ethic, she served her community faithfully and formed lasting connections along the way.

An avid outdoorsman, Sandra had a deep love for hunting and fishing. She was also a gifted artist and painter, expressing her creativity through crafting and collecting rocks and artifacts. Sandra found joy in gardening and spending time in nature, which brought her endless happiness.

She is survived by her beloved children, Mark Burkett of Ovalo, Texas; David Burkett of Leander, Texas; Elizabeth Stearnes of Stephenville, Texas; Kathryn McCarty of Pioneer, Texas; along with her eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Sandra is also survived by her brothers, Emory and Michael Lusk. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lydia Burkett, and her parents, Ruth and Beryl Lusk.

A graveside service will be held at Burkett Cemetery on Thursday, November 14 at 11:00 am. Family and friends are welcome to gather in remembrance of her life.
