We are saddened to announce the passing of Sarah Frances Chamberlain, who left us on November 15, 2025, at the age of 83. Sarah was born on May 4, 1942, in Call, Texas, to William Roland Dodson and Maudie Lee (Wilson) Dodson.
She married her beloved husband, Charles E. "Red" Chamberlain, on October 18, 1958, in Kirbyville, Texas. Throughout her life, Sarah took on many roles-she was a bookkeeper, a cashier, and most importantly, a dedicated homemaker and career military officers wife. Her adventures took her all over, including Virginia, South Carolina, Scotland, Guam, Florida, and Spain, but she made her home in Rising Star, Texas, in August 1981. Sarah was a familiar face at the Union Center Baptist Church for many years.
Sarah is survived by her son, Tony Chamberlain, multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles, along with her son, Richard "Ricky" Chamberlain; daughter, Diana L. Matherne; and siblings Edward Dodson, Leonard Wallace, and W.K. Dodson, as well as her sisters Jessie Fay Herria, Virginia Lewis, and Maudell Griffin.
