Sherry Yvonne Ables , age 68 of Cross Plains passed away Saturday, June 18, 2016. Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Higginbotham Funeral Home in Cross Plains, Texas.
Sherry was born on April 26, 1948 in Gorman, Texas to late Norman Curtis and Rosemary Minter-Gilbert. Sherry worked as an LVN until a injury forced her to retire. She enjoyed doing crafts. She dearly loved her family and because of her love for her son, Norman she passed away in the house fire trying to save him.
Sherry is survived by her children, Bobby Taylor and his wife, Karen of Odessa, Texas; Curtis Taylor and his wife, Sheila of Cross Plains, Texas; Frank Powell and wife, Dora of Columbia, Mississippi; David Powell of Cisco, Texas; sister, Teresa Kunkel and her husband, Ray of Alvarado, Texas; brother, Robert Gilbert and his wife, Skye of Hobbs, New Mexico; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ron Anderson and sister, Sheila Rowin.
