Tammie Lee (Stroud) Brown, age 66, of Cottonwood, Texas passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, July 4, 2025, in her home. Tammie was born on October 16, 1958, to Xana Lee and Isla Aston (Bartley) Stroud in Hobss, NM.
Tammie attended Cross Plains ISD where she made numerous lifelong friends and became the mascot for the Cross Plains Buffaloes. Tammie always had a contagious smile and warm heart. She married Gerry Brown in Abilene, Texas. They both moved to Cottonwood and cared for the many family members that lived around them. She was a friend to all, and she was always up to some kind of mischief. Whether it was plotting a birthday surprise or scaring the kids that dared to venture out into the Cottonwood Cemeteries, Tammie always had a playful attitude.
Tammie is survived by her loving husband, Gerry Brown; son, Jason Stroud; daughter, Lindsey Barker; she also had numerous family members that consisted of grandchildren, cousins, nephews, nieces, great nephews; great nieces.
Tammie is preceded by her parents, X.L. and Isla Stroud; sisters, Jeannete Ray and Patricia Morris; brother, Jimmy Stroud.
