Vivian “Deloris” Garrett, age 67, of Rising Star passed away Monday, May 16, 2016 in Rising Star. A graveside service will be held Friday, May 20 at 2:00 PM at Pioneer Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 prior to the service at Higginbotham Funeral Home Cross Plains.
Deloris was born on April 27, 1949 in Monahans, Texas to the late Robert D. Lewis and Lucille Cowan Lewis. She worked as a Nurse Aid and volunteered at the school. Deloris had a sweet, generous kind heart. She would make beautiful cross stitch crafts and give them to her friends and those who needed cheering up. Having been in a wheelchair for a long time did not diminish her care for her community or those in it. Deloris was a women of strong faith and will be missed by those who were blessed to have been in her life.
Deloris is survived by her dear friends, Ann Stearns, Brenda Spraggins and husband Charles and Lisa Gardner and many others.
