Willie "Bill" Medley

Willie “Bill” Lee Medley, 92, longtime resident of Rising Star, Texas went to be with our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 in Abilene, Texas.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church in Rising Star, Texas with Terry Simmons officiating. Burial will follow at Rising Star Cemetery in Rising Star, Texas. The family will have a time of visitation from 5:00 -7:00 pm on Friday, December 7 at the First Baptist Church in Rising Star, Texas.

Bill was born on November 22, 1926 in Clarksville, Texas to the Late Ernest Lee and Rena May Rainey-Medley. He married Barbara Watson on March 30, 1996 in Pioneer, Texas. Bill served his country during and after WWII in the United States Navy for 2 years then settled in May, Texas where he became a Masons at the age of 21. He worked for Western Co. for 10 years before opening his own business in Rising Star in 1962. During his life time, he was a Deacon at the First Baptist Church in Rising Star and then served as a Deacon at Pioneer Baptist Church. He was a member of the American Legion. During Bill’s life, he continued to help and support his community. Bill was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Medley of Rising Star, Texas; Son, Danny Medley and his wife, Karen of Cincinnati, Ohio; daughter, Debbie White and her husband, Danny of Cisco; 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents; first wife Faye; sister, Ruby Nell.
