Obituary for Billy "Bud" Don Linney

Billy Don “Bud” Linney, 78, of Rising Star, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2017 in Rising Star.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 20 from 6 to 8 PM at First Baptist Church, Rising Star, TX. A Funeral service will be held Friday, July 21 at 10 AM at First Baptist Church in Rising Star, burial will follow at Rising Star Cemetery.

Bud was born on November 3, 1938 in Midland, TX., to the late Lester Ervin and Jewel Juanita Kinsey-Linney. Bud married the love of his life, JoAnn Heairren on December 28, 1956 in Rising Star, TX. He worked as a roughneck, farmer, and rancher. While working hard to provide for his family was his true passion, he did enjoy traveling and spending time with friends and family. He also fished, but even that was more about the fellowship than the fish. He was a member of Union Center Baptist Church.

Bud is survived by his wife, JoAnn Heairren–Linney; 4 daughters, Diana White and husband, Steve of Rising Star; Katrina Maness and husband, David of Alleyton; Kathy Herring and husband, Tod of Rising Star; Elizabeth Jo Gilmore and husband Steven of Early; 5 grandchildren, Steven Don White and wife, Alisha, Brittany Redfern and husband, Bill, David Maness Jr., Lindsey Cutright and husband, T. J., Campbell Gilmore; great grandchildren, Brynlee Cutright and one on the way; 4 sisters, Carolyn Chambers and husband, Clarence; Sandy Hutton and husband, J.D.; Debra Chambers and husband, Bobby; Patricia Hutton and husband, Danny.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Donna Jo Linney; 3 brothers, L.J. Linney; Doodle Linney; Lonnie Linney; 2 sisters, Barbara White; Peggy Rone.
