I met Chance while filling in at the Burkett post office. We struck-up a friendship and when he found out I owned an airplane we scheduled a time to meet at the Coleman airport. His excitement and enthusiasm made the flight even more fun. He was and is the kind of guy I’ll always remember.
RIP Chance, you’re flying solo now...

I for one will never be the same. Chance was a big part of our family, he would come over almost everyday to check on us and see what was going on. It always brightened my day knowing that there will be a White Jeep pulling in the driveway. Chance was the first real guy friend I let in my life in a really long time, I was not Shute what I thought of him in the beginning, but he insisted that we were going to be friends, was not going to take no for an answer lol. As most of you know he was baptized a few months back. I thank god he put it in his heart to do so. I’m not Sure why God called him home, but I can only speculate a reason and that is he needed another warrior up there.. gives me some pease knowing I will see my friend again when he calls for me. I loved chance like a brother he told me quite a few times that I did not know what I meant to him. This will stay in my heart for ever, because he meant the world to me. I can tell you that Chance was a totally different guy I met 5 years ago. He was happy with the way things were going. He had big plans for the future. I know that he would want anyone reading this to turn to God to follow the void of sadness and trust he has a plan in everything that happens. I hope and pray god eases the pain and this will help others to talk about my dear friend. I really truly miss my brother/friend. Rest In Peace and fly high with the angles as I know how much you enjoyed flying in plains here on earth. I’m truly blessed to have the opportunity to know him.

CR 172 will never be the same without the most charismatic postman kickin up dust every week. I will miss those days when I’m workin near the road and I would hear that familiar voice holler out “ What the heck are ya doin Coburn? “ followed by a giggle. Chance hardly ever just drove by and waived, he usually at least stopped to see how things had been and kept me posted on any good rumors. Texas has lost another fine son and he will be missed. Prayers of strength and healing to the entire Connelly family.
